Is atonement for past sins and mistakes possible?
The answer depends on what kinds of mistakes you have made. However, in general, mistakes can be atoned while sins can only be forgiven at best. mistakes that we make in daily basis are not intended to harm someone or performed under evil will. It may be made by careless thinking or lead by emotions. Therefore, they can be reconciled by compensating if damaged or harmed anyone or anything, or by learning not to make the same mistake again later on. Once someone said that mistakes and failures are the mother of success. I think it is absolutely true.
On the other hand, sins have different meaning than mistakes. Sins usually followed by evil will and performed on planned basis. I don't think it will be reconciled even they compensate it. It can be forgiven at best yet it will never be forgotten.

One summer day, I was planning to visit Washington DC for college visits and I forgot to bring my ID and I could not get on the train, so I gave up and went to visit the colleges around the downtown philadelphia howver, I later figured out that the train people actually do allow me without the ID since I was student. and I regreeted that I had just got rid of 80dollar trip ticket etc.
MY friends were also upset that I could not go, and some actually stayed with me and they were even more upset when we figured that we could go without the ID.

Run Away

The one last soldier was ordered by his captain to survive and let the other platoons know about the sudden massacre by the enemies. James was running with all the energy he got, and he wanted to get rid of the guns and radios which are heavy enough to slow him down. However, he can not until he reaches the safe zone because he will have to use the radio in case he gets injured or so. he hears a sudden shooting from the bush, and hides quickly, but soon realized it wasn't aimed for him. He slowly takes a detour trying not to be discovered, but ended up stepping on a branch which cracked with loud sound as he steps on it. The enemies got into alert mode, lifting up their weapons and started searching around. James lied down between two large rocks, trying to camaflouge. When the enemies reached only a few steps from where James was hiding, a bright sun light came out from the cloud and shined on the rocks. Enemies, failed to see James lying between the rocks, went back to their camp. James thanked god for everything and ran down to continue his mission.

triumph of evil is when good people do nothing

good people doing nothing makes them 'not good'. meaning if there are no good people preventing bad actions and performs a good will, the world will be evil. evil is absence of good. people are individual and they have different ideas, wants, and needs. when good is absent, their sole actions will be aimed for their wants and needs and there will be conflicts and cause trouble.

decision

the major decision that a student makes at my age would be deciding his college and majors.
Depending on which college he gets in, the family's financial stability gets affected no matter how much loans the student gets. different tuitions depends on colleges, different expenses depends on locations, and also whether he commutes or boards also effects his expenses.
Majors as well as hard to choose, since at this age not many people are certain about what they wants to become. In fact, most of the college students change their majors at their sophomore year. Also majors are sometimes very specified, and sometimes students lose their certainty about the major. For example, a student with strong science sometimes have difficulty deciding between biology, chemistry, biochemistry, bio-engineering, or chemical engineering.
This is very common for all students and their enviroment also takes a role in choosing one, or vice-versa.
